The State of West Virginia selected
BAE SYSTEMS for Advanced Mapping Services for Statewide Enhanced
911, and Rural and Additional E911 Addressing Services. Using
state of the art GPS, Airborne GPS and digital photogrammetric
technology, BAE SYSTEMS ADR business unit will develop a highly
accurate, digital base map of West Virginia. This base map will
provide high quality digital mapping of the entire state and assign
a standard city-style address to every identifiable structure.
High quality digital mapping allows Emergency
Response teams to react quicker to any type of emergency, from a
fire to a terrorist threat. "Mapping and correlated geo-spatial
data products from this program will serve as critical components
in support of emergency response, crisis planning, disaster recovery
and risk analysis," stated Dr. Marshall Banker, President of BAE
SYSTEMS Mission Solutions. "We anticipate this project to serve
as a springboard for showcasing BAE SYSTEMS established capabilities
in Homeland Security and E911 emergency response initiatives."
